Duane Francis is a proud member of the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation's Survivorship Task Force. The Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation is developing 'Cancer Survivorship Care' - a series of programs and workshops designed to assist cancer patients, and those closest to them, through every step of their journey from pre-diagnosis, through diagnosis, treatment, to post-treatment recovery. Duane Francis was nominated for and named to the Ottawa Business Journal Forty Under 40 for 2010, joining an elite group of local business people who are committed to business achievement, professional expertise and community giving. Duane Francis is actively involved in numerous local charities such as The Christmas Cheer Breakfast, The United Way, The Healing Hands busy book (CHEO), The Ottawa Church of Christ and The Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation.

Duane is the Past President of the Board for the Ottawa Church of Christ where he served as President for 5 years. He is currently still a director on the board. Duane has been a long time supporter of the United Way where he has served as an Account Executive for 12 years. In 2004, Duane co-founded The "Let's Take a Swing at Cancer" Golf Tournament in support of the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation. With the help of his efforts the tournament had raised almost $70,000 to help with the ongoing research and patient care through the foundation.
